A similar process to pointing, which facilitates toothing sliding into each other and so is used as a positioning aid. The top shapes consist of two halves, and there are various options available such as “straight” or “convex”.

Several surfaces on one tooth can also be machined synchronously by rotation. Here, two surfaces are applied in one tool rotation, with corresponding benefits in terms of time and costs.

The particular feature of this task was that due to the component’s clamping situation, the sharpening has to be applied to the rear side. Of course, our specialists have also developed an appropriate tool solution for this.
